CHILDE is an independently owned Australian brand located in Byron Bay, creating premium hand made eco-sensitive Italian eyewear inspired by artists, musicians and activists. Founded in 2018 by Jon Laurenson while living in Portugal and being inspired by friend and renowned local Lisbon artist Mario Belem.
The CHILDE brand, products and community is built on punk sensibility fuelled by design expression of raw energy, freedom of speech and environmentally sensitive manufacturing principals. CHILDE is embodied by the ancient symbol of the Ouroboros - the serpent eating its own tail defining the universal cycle of life created from death and the logo symbolising the infinite evolution of our brand's expression of raw energy. This natural cycle reflects our focus on using bio-degradable and sustainable materials wherever we can.
